Since the fall of 2024 I've been building and maintaining a 2 meter repeater for our local radio club. My goal with this project was to stimulate some collective club activity and to get some old rigs dusted of and rebuild to use for this repeater. And this, I have to say, has been working remarkably well.
The last objective was also the reason I've chosen to use a 25kHz step frequency (145.725MHz) so even the oldest of unused transceivers could be repurposed for this repeater by simply adding a homebrew CTCSS encoder, a project that you can also find on my website here.
