Quansheng did it again..

Al lot of ham's have discovered the Quansheng UV-K5 (8) radio as it offered the amazing possibility to hack te firmware and by doing so adding features like SSB reception.
Normally only high priced versions of Kenwood, Icom or Yaesu offer such possibilities, but here for a few 10euro notes you get similar possibilitities.

Of course this hacking has some disadvantages as the hardware is not optimized for these kind of hacked-features.
And Quansheng has been following closely what happend to their radios and has also been listening very well to its customerbase

The result they came up with is the Quansheng TK-11

This little radio does not only receive in AM, FM, and SSB between 153 kHz and 1160 MHz,
it also transmits on 70cm, 2m, 6m, 10m, 11m and although not marketed but as I've noticed in using it it keeps transmitting as low as the 12m band...
So it basically can be used on FIVE ham radio bands !

The poweroutput officially is 10Watt's but in pratice it reaches about 8Watt's what is still very decent for a handheld radio.
The radio has two antenna ports and comes with 2 antenna's, one antenne that can be used to transmit on 6m, 2m and 70cm,
and an other antenna (ferite-based coil antenna) that can be plugged in the minijack input for reception between 153kHz and 18MHz.

If this all was not yet enough the radio comes with a desktop charger and a 3000mA battery that can also be charged using an USB-c connector on the battery itself..
And it has a (basic) spectrum analyser feature, just to add to the list...

Pricetag? You'll find one for about 50-60 euros...
Amazing...
